Removal of the bonnet or cap. There was probably 2-8 screws. Now vacuum the dust from around the motor and drive mechanism. What you can not come up with a vacumn, using a small cloth or brush. clean motor does not become clogged and overheating.

Once you have cleaned around the motor, look for any body fat, and are commonly found in commercial grade units, but perhaps some of your well.

For those of you who have never seen one, they are about the size of a pencil and have a hole in the end. They are ususally on the bearings. If you do not have grease gun you can buy a small gun and grease from your local auto parts store for less than $ 10.00.

If your device is a chain drive, clean the chain of excess dust and apply a small amount of lubricant to the chain, also grease the drive chain and chain elevation as needed. Use white lithium grease if available.

Check all drive belts for wear, look for cuts and nicks, and replace if necessary.

Loosen the walking belt, most treadmills have either a screw or bolt on each side, thethe rear of the the unit . Unscrew it, pushing the rear roller toward the deck to walking belt is loose enough for you to look below.

Lift the belt and inspect the underside for wear. If it looks worn or burned need to replace the belt.

Make sure to wear walking the deck, you will be able to tell if he is wearing. If the little ruts worn into it, or submit a site to be or flipped or replaced.

Many treadmills today are walking the deck that can be flipped. If your deck to wear flip, but it is recommended that when you flip the deck to replace the walking belt.

wipe the deck and the lower band with a soft cloth, depending on the model of treadmill you should lubricate the walking board at least every 6 months. Some units use silicone spray or gel. Others use wax. Check your owner's manual for what the manufacturer recommends.

After you clean the deck and belt lubricated deck as necessary to center the belt walking platform and tighten the screws on the end of the treadmill.

Turn each screw the same amount to keep the belt centered. Tighten the belt until it is free to move on rollers. Then with caution straddle the belt and start treadmill at a slow speed.

Wait for the belt to start moving, then step on the belt. If it stops it is not wide enough. Step off the belt and tighten each side 1 turn and then step on the belt again.

Repeat as necessary.

When you can walk on the belt at low speed without stopping or sliding velocity increased to 3 miles per hour. This should be a quick walk. If your device has side rails keep track and try to stop the belt press.

if OK, then increase speed to 5 km / h. Running on a treadmill, if you think that any slip tighten the screws are 1 / 2 turns each. Repeat if necessary.

If the belt is not centered, I stand behind the treadmill belt and running at full speed, if the belt to track to the left. Tighten the left bolt or screw 1 / 2 from the other side, and loosen the screw or bolt right 1 / 4 turn until the belt is centered.

If the belt is tracking right, tighten the right side of the bolt or screw 1 / 2 turn and loosen the left bolt or screw 1 / 4 turn. Repeat if necessary, it should center walking belt.

Always wipe the bar down after each use, sweating is very corrosive.

If your treadmill inclines to increase the maximum height and vacuum underneath.

If you are not inclined to take it out and vacuum.

Most operational problems are usually easy to see, detect and repair. If the cause of the problem is not obvious, follow a logical process of checking each component in the system.

Maybe the belt is too tight and causing the motor to draw too much current. Try tightening the belt under the preventive maintenance procedure.
